If you would like to collect the snuff bottle, please note as following:

Shape bottle. It must be shapely and sightly. Someone had put snuff bottle’s
shoulders compare to “Beauty’s shoulders”. So its line must be
elegant, and charming. 2.
Original state. The snuff bottle’s cap and little spoon are all original.3.
Color. Its color must be bright.4.
Integrity. The snuff bottle needs intact without shatter or fade.5.
Carve technique. It need has a fine and aesthetic feeling.6.
Paint technique. It need be fine and neatness, also has a certain art
characteristic.7.
Bottle wall. Its outer wall need level off and smooth, it also has high
transparency, and has no sand eye and veins.
If you would like to maintain some rare snuff bottles, please note:

Jade snuff bottle fears sweat and alkali. Don’t put it near the lampblack, keep
it away from sunlight.2.
You should wipe it with soft white cloth after appreciate it, don’t rinse it
with any chemic detergent. 3.
Please don’t taint it, when you make the air fresh or insecticide in the room.4.
The snuff bottle
has air vent, and it’s very delicate. Such as:
don’t put the pine-stone snuff bottle near lampblack or steam.5.
Please avoid high temperature, otherwise the pine-stone snuff bottle will
change its color.6.
All
kinds of snuff bottles need avoid strong sunlight, please put it into glass
counter.
It’s a deep lore to
identify the snuff bottle.
The connoisseur of Qing Dynasty---Zhao Ruzhen said in the book<<appreciate the
snuff bottle>> that you should advert two points for curio’s appreciation: one
is to identify its true and false, another is to identify its classy and
inferior. The usual procedure for curio’s appreciation is to ensure true and
false firstly, then to identify its classy and inferior, but it’s an exception
for snuff bottle. It only needs to identify its classy and inferior, that’s
enough. We needn’t to identify its true and false. Because snuff bottle’s
rareness, so people only see its material, painting, don’t to see its made
period and artist’s name.
If its material is rare, and paint technique is superb, whenever it painted,
also in spite of the artist is who, it is a superb snuff bottle. By contraries,
if the materal is common, and paint technique is common, even if it was made
during Kangxi and Yongzheng Period, it has also no any value. For the false
snuff bottle, people usual can identify, so people don’t pay attention to its
true and false, only need to identify its classy and inferior.
